
For the Swiss Stock Exchange, 2020 has been a true test of its ability to perform its core functions – and it passed with flying colors. Despite the unprecedented market turmoil, it has enabled companies to raise capital and investors to adjust their portfolios by ensuring continuous, transparent and efficient trading throughout the year. It is an outstanding achievement – or, as we like to call it: a good start.
The COVID-19 pandemic has not only caused turmoil in financial markets, but it has already reshaped the economy and society as a whole and will increasingly do so over the coming months and years. Since both are closely interlinked, it is important to observe these changes and to seek out fresh thinking on capital creation at national, organizational, and individual levels.
